QuotesofWisdom: A Better Tomorrow

After you got something, instead of enjoying it, you desire better ones. Is an addiction mentality or a bottomless pit of desire and greed. It can never be satisfied. What you can do is enjoy it when you can and with what you already have. This reduces stress and you don’t need to earn more money for this. —— Dickson Idlier

QuotesofWisdom: The Sad Truth

People you love may be the ones hating you the most. Don't because of the minority makes you give up on the majority who still loves you back unless everyone hates you. Then you are the problem.  —— Dickson Idlier

iSAVvy: Live Not Within But Below Your Means

Too bad I don't have a license and there is no such van here. Image from : https://unsplash.com/photos/xr-y6Ruw7K8?utm_source=unsplash&utm_medium=referral&utm_content=creditShareLink Live below your means doesn't mean comprising your living standard but having a sustainable lifestyle with what you have. Is a simple way of life people desire.  —— Dickson Idlier Live below your means is spending less money than you earn (budget management) but to me, it is living with bare essentials. Similar to minimalism  minus declutter your stuff to the minimum. Another aspect is be as debt-free as possible.  Will I be like a cheapskate person if I live below my means? Yes in a certain sense but you are smiling with a fat bank account while others slogging their lives over money. Different people perceive differently what are bare essentials. Below is an idea of living with my bare essentials: Food . We need to eat to live. Try to buy fresh ingredients and cook mo...

BrainTeasers: Better To Live Cheap Under Budget, Than Live Luxuriously In Debt

Desire for a better life gets us more entrapped in the web of desires to overspend. Only by cutting away these threads of desires can we free ourselves and live a less stressful and more rewarding life by spending below our means.  ——  Dickson Idlier There are two ways to live life: 1. Live in a way that we spend less than we make. 2. Live in a way that spends more than we make. Spending exactly as you make does not happen as emergencies happen all the time, so is still in the second group. People would rationally choose spending less than we make but most don't.  In our civilized society, we are constantly bombarded with advertisements promising a better life than you have... if and only if, you are willing to spend to get it. This is so ingrained in our subconscious, from the moment we become sensible, we subtly and unintentionally fall into this trap. Increased income doesn't quench our desires. Offers for better life grow with our income... nicer cars, bigger houses, ...

IdlierQuotes: What Is Happiness?

Translated as: What is happiness? Poor people said: Being rich is happiness The disabled said: Being able to walk is happiness Blind people say: To see is happiness Beggar said: Having food is happiness The patient said: Being alive is happiness For different people, happiness is usually to obtain what they don't have. The happiness we want can be very simple and straightforward. However, when you have it, you don’t cherish it but wanting something better or more. Greed clouds your sight from happiness. Thus, happiness is simply to cherish what you have, not keep chasing something better. —— Dickson Idlier

QuotesofWisdom: Money Is Not Everything

I do agree with this quote. Only when you have enough money to survive then you can say "Money is not everything." How much is enough? It depends on you, actually. I only need little to survive and I have been living a simple life for more than 3 years to say this. Some things cannot be bought with money but with money, it sometimes makes things easier if you are struggling with life.   —— Dickson Idlier

QuotesofWisdom: I'm Done

Don't abuse my kindness. Once it ran out, you are out of my life forever. You ain't worth my time. ——Dickson Idlier

QuotesofWisdom: Privilege Not Entitlement

When people expect and does not get what they want from you, their attitudes might changed totally towards you. Such people does not understand a helping hand is a privilege but not an entitlement. You don't owe them anything and not helping them, even if you could, is your rights. Unable to understand such simple logic is not worthy of getting any help. Get rid or avoid such such people without gratitude out of your life.   —— Dickson Idlier

BrainTeasers: Most bizarre Find

When dumpster diving, you may find interesting stuff as you salvage through the green and blue trash bins and any items people left at the void decks. Here I will show you my most bazzar find. My most bazaar find is ... a Living   11-inch Freshwater Stingray .  My bazzar find live stingray in my 3 ft aquarium The 11 inch freshwater stingray was found in a broken 3ft tank beside the rubbish chute and slightly hidden by some kids' clothes laid on top of the tank. (I suspect the owner doesn't want anyone to notice it) Initially, I was only interested in the kids' clothes until I noticed it inside. When I saw it breathing, it surprised me. I was wondering how can I rescue it. I thought of releasing it in any pond or canals, but none is nearby (luckily as it might be a bad thing to do so). Finally, I decided to bring it home. I used a kids top to hold the tail and put it into a basket that was lying nearby. I carried the basket to my home.  Luckily, after the rough journey hom...
