@Lifestyle: Freeganism, Minimalism And Downshifter Similarities And Differences

Below are my opinions.

For the above-mentioned lifestyles, they have a lot in common and some minor differences when compared side by side. There are no fixed guidelines on choosing which lifestyle is the best. It depends on what suits you and adjusts or fine-tunes accordingly.

Similarities for all three lifestyles:

  • All are environmentally friendly to Mother Earth due to reducing the use of natural resources and less pollution.
  • Slow down your pace in life and mind.
  • More intentional spending to prevent impulsive spending habits.
  • Less is more. Less money, busy, stress, debts, boredom, emptiness, hopelessness... To have more time, enjoyment in your life, good experiences, and memories, achievement, success,
  • Get out of the rat race.
  • Simplicity in terms of living and way of life.
  • Managing your personal finance. Spend less, save more so can relax early. Just needs more planning and consciousness of your spendings and investments.

Differences for specific lifestyles:

  • Dumpster diving is a unique activity for freeganism. Getting food and merchandise for free from the dumpster. Depending on which country you live in, might not be practical.
  • Freeganism is the only lifestyle that rejects consumerism. Making it not easy to follow, like in Singapore.
  • Freeganism is very much about living relying on nature but since nature is so badly affected by humans, it is not easy to do this in a practical sense, even though it is not impossible.
  • Decluttering is hardest for minimalism as it focuses on what you keep is essential and getting rid of the rest. Then declutter relationships, your mind, and any stuff in your life.

From easiest to most difficult lifestyle is Downshifting   ➜ Minimalism ➜ Freeganism. In my opinion, the easiest to start is downshifting lifestyle, where most of the similarities are achieved for having a simple lifestyle and mindset. The other two lifestyles are more challenging but what you achieve is greater, depending on what you are after.

Initially, I wanted to watch it due to an esport drama, but it turned out to be such an excellent drama.  The drama is about 2 esport players for Crossfire game, XiaoFeng (Seven), a team leader for 1coin team in the year 2008 and another is XiaoBei (North), team leader for Continue team in the year 2019.  They somehow managed to contact each other through this game during an accident. With this encounter, they later managed to realize who each other is and they helped each other during different time eras to try to make some changes that happened. Through this, XiaoFeng managed to win the first CrossFire competition in China and XiaoBei managed to form an esport team and continued to compete CrossFire as a professional player. ...

My Filipino Project Giveaways

The "Filipino Project" is started by Singapore freegan founder, Colin Lau. The project collects usable small items (clothes, bags, kitchenware, luggage, bed sheets, curtains, blankets, stationery, soft toys, plastic toys, shoes, electrical and electronics, lingerie, etc) and gives them to Filipinos. They pack these items into big carton boxes and ship back to their hometown in the Philippines. The Filipino groups pay for the shipping costs usually. These shipped items are then given to their family members, relatives, or church members as some are so poor, they can't afford a meal. Some items are sold to pay for their essentials, like food, electricity, etc. Visayas group that came to my place. Still have 2 ladies that not in the photo as they came later. This is my 7th giveaway to this project on 14 September 2019. Below are the giveaway items photos. BrainTeasers: Better To Live Cheap Under Budget, Than Live Luxuriously In Debt

Desire for a better life gets us more entrapped in the web of desires to overspend. Only by cutting away these threads of desires can we free ourselves and live a less stressful and more rewarding life by spending below our means.  ——  Dickson Idlier There are two ways to live life: 1. Live in a way that we spend less than we make. 2. Live in a way that spends more than we make. Spending exactly as you make does not happen as emergencies happen all the time, so is still in the second group. People would rationally choose spending less than we make but most don't.  In our civilized society, we are constantly bombarded with advertisements promising a better life than you have... if and only if, you are willing to spend to get it. This is so ingrained in our subconscious, from the moment we become sensible, we subtly and unintentionally fall into this trap. Increased income doesn't quench our desires. Offers for better life grow with our income... nicer cars, bigger houses, ...
