Many people will realize their mistake when they noticed that the clutter they have used to be money. The thinking "I may have use for it.", "It is on SALE!" or "Buy just in case." are all bullshit. The short satisfaction of buying something will only be an eroded feeling of wasting that money for something more worthy. Only when repurpose existing items or when the item has a long term purpose, do you think should you buy it. Try borrowing or get second-hand and sell off later. Does it make better sense?
